Military Order of the Stars and Bars

On Friday June 12th, after the conclusion of convention activities, please join us for a two hour cruise on Lake Murray.

Along with a light dinner and refreshments we will have South Carolina style musical entertainment.

Lake Murray not only had the largest earthen dam when built, but also was the bombing range for Doolittle's Raiders. One of the islands which we will pass by is known as Bomb Island and even today has many practice bombs on it. Just a few years ago, a
B-25 which had crash landed in the lake and very near the dam was recovered. One of its engines is still missing and the plane is in the aviation museum in Birmingham, where it is being restored.
